Minimum Regulations Explained.....

Crash Matts - These MUST be supplied with all Slides. Bouncy Castle's that are erected on hard surfaces MUST also be supplied with Matts. Offering Matts should not be used as a selling aid, all reputable firms are aware that Matts are compulsory.

Sandbags/Pegs - After recent events, people have become aware of the dangers when Inflatable equipment has not been secured properly. On the 23rd July 2006, 2 people were killed when a giant structure took to the air. This has now highlighted the need for safety in Inflatable's.

The requirement set out in HSE No.7, states, Bouncy Castle's & Inflatable's must be anchored to the ground with the use of stakes. Where this is not possible, for example: Concrete, Gravel etc, Sandbags must be attached to all anchor points on the unit. Please Note: This is also compulsory for Bouncy Castle's & Inflatable's being used indoors.

Public Liability Insurance - Covered by a massive £10 Million Public Liability Insurance.

All our items, unless where stated, are fully insured and recommended for safe hire, unsupervised by our staff. We work together closely with insurers implementing their practises, together with government standards which enable us to do so. Hirers claiming to offer this service, though recommending against, should be approached with caution. No hirers should be making recommendation above or against their insurers, thus invalidating their own policy. If in doubt, contact your local Trading Standards office for further advice.

Public Liability Insurance is required for any School, Local Authority Hall, Playgroup's, Public halls, RAF or any MOD property.

For these venues, £5 Million Public Liability Insurance is the lowest grade requirement that is accepted in most circumstances but sometimes more, therefore we suggest that if you are asking for varied quotations, to 'know your venue and know your hirer'.

Electric Safety? - A Shocking Fact!!

All of our leads are fitted with an RCD power breakers. We also use outdoor 3 pin plugs and sockets. For larger equipment, a power conditioner will be used. Without the use of these vital important safety factors, the Bouncy Castle/Inflatable acts as a huge electrical conductor! Particulary if wet! Need I say more???

PIPA testing is the same principle as a MOT for your car. The Inflatable is independently inspected yearly. If they are safe & legal, a certificate will be issued and a blue round disc is placed on the Inflatable with a serial number. If not, the chances are, the Inflatable has been 'Condemned' and not fit for use! The serial number will tell you the history of the inflatable, such as, when was it last tested?, is it stolen? and more. To check a serial number, click here.

But may we take the opportunity to explain that currently PIPA testing is for Bouncy Castle's, Slide's & Obstacle Courses only. Therefore, Bungee Run's, Gladiator Joust's and other Inflatable games may not hold the PIPA certificates, though we are hoping that HSE & Trading Standards make it compulsory for all Inflatables by 2007. Our operators have first aid training by St John's Ambulance service.

We also comply with "Best Practice" which is required under the health & safety at work act 1974.
